These videos and pictures are related to a puppet theatre tournament in Bogotá - Colombia during March of 2019, with the objective to explore the object’s animation. The first part of the tournament was to create teams of 4 people by lottery, two persons to perform and manipulate the objects, one playwright, and one director.

I participated as a playwright.

​The second part was to give the objects to the teams. They were different kind of objects, a clock, a pairs scissors and a shirt for the initial scene (Gallery # 1).  We had 3 days to build the scene and at the end we presented it to the public. In one night, the public had the possibility to see 4 small performances of objects and at the end of the session they voted for the best performance. The winner of the first session would go to the final to compete with the winners of the other nights. We won the first round with the story called "The Tailor" (Gallery # 1)

In the final we competed with 3 other teams and new objects: a roll of toilet paper, a bra and many bananas, because we had the rule to take one of the objects and multiply it many times. This story was called "Madame Brassier and her Army of Bananas". It was a group of bananas lead by Madam Brassier against the dictator who wanted a world where everyone was white and square. ​We won the object’s tournament with this small performance. Almost 50% of the public voted for us. We received 200 dollars, a beautiful trophy and the possibility to participate in another tournament geared towards children, when we created our third small performance. 

​The third performance was with three objects: a mop, a hat and a box. The story was about a child sleeping in his room (the box) and dreaming that he was fighting with the monster (huge milk box), the witch (mop), and a big worm. At the end he was playing with his mother. (See Gallery #2)

My role as a playwright was to guide the performers during the creation process through some improvisations with the objects and in collaboration with the director, to choose the music and the use of lights, and to decide the last sequence with all elements.
